As we celebrate the 100th anniversary of Armistice and the end of the Great War, the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame has created an exciting new feature exhibit for 2018 entitled Reflections of the Great War: Manitoban Athletes-in-Arms. This exhibit was made possible in thanks due to the generosity of several military organizations and heritage institutions from Winnipeg, Shilo, Stony Mountain and Pilot Mound as we feature an array of artefacts and memorabilia that help tell the stories we wanted to tell. Sport has always played a huge role in the military and World War One was no exception: fitness, team building, morale, camaraderie, discipline and engagement. Sport served them all and the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame has tried to tell that story through the various honoured members who wrote that history. Come to 145 Pacific and see this wonderful display opening May 1, 2018.
