Canadian Corps Championships 1918 – 2018 in Tincques, France (62690 Tincques, ) – June 30, 2018

A century later, the French historical association "Les Chroniqueurs" will hold a weekend commemorative events and re-creation of Championship events based on the official Dominion Day 1918 Journal. Canadians are encouraged and welcome to attend the following events: PLAQUE RECOGNIZING CANADIAN PILOTS Saturday, June 30, 2018 11:00 a.m. Filescamp Farm, Rue d'Izel, Izel-lès-Hammeau A plaque will be dedicated honouring Canadian pilots and, in particular, Canadian Aces Billy Bishop and Ray Collishaw. WREATH-LAYING AT LOCAL CEMETERY Saturday, June 30, 2018 2:30 p.m. Aubigny Communal Cemetery, Rue des étudiants, Aubigny en Artois Wreaths will be laid in honour of Canadians who came to France who were present in the region in 1918. MUSICAL TRIBUTE Saturday, June 30, 2018 6:00 p.m. The Church of St. Hilaire, La Place Publique, Tincque The Estracelles Singers will perform First World War songs during a concert at Tincques' 17th century Church of St. Hilaire. THEATRE TRIBUTE Saturday, June 30, 2018 10:30 p.m. Tincques Community Hall (Salle des Fêtes), La Place Publique, Tincques Saturday's activities conclude with an evening of short theatrical plays based on 1918 performances, which include the famous theatrical group made up of Canadian soldiers called "The Dumbells". RE-CREATION EVENTS Sunday, July 1, 2018 2-6 pm Sports Complex, Tincques Organizers will re-create sporting competitions organized in 1918, including foot races, a Best Clown competition, a presentation by 'Cirq'en Cavale' and Lacrosse and football matches.</p><p><br />
