It was our pleasure and honour to organize the October is Korean Heritage Month - Korean Flag Raising Ceremony, Wreath Laying Ceremony and K-Food Reception at Hamilton City Hall on October 1st (Korean Armed Forces Day), 2025.

Historic Moment

The City of Hamilton was established in 1846 and the Korean Flag was raised at the Hamilton City Hall for the first time from October 1st (Korean Armed Forces Day) to October 3 (Korean National Founding Day) in 2025. It was a historic moment for all of us.

Andrea Howarth, Mayor of City of Hamilton delivered a speech stressing strong diplomatic relations between Korea and Canada and Hamilton.

Distinguished Guests

Ron Zabrok (WWII and Korean War Veteran) who is 100 years old, Rev. Dr. Francis Chisholm (WWII Veteran) who is 99 years old, Andy Barber, Korean War Veteran who served with the Royal Canadian Navy and HMCS Haida, and many other distinguished veterans and dignitaries attended.

We also laid a wreath to honour the 516 fallen Canadians during the Korean War, including 12 from Hamilton.
