  • ALLIED DECEPTION

The allies work diligently to deceive the enemy with the spread of false information, that was deliberately leaked to the Germans. This included fake details regarding where the attack would take place from.
The allies used cunning tricks on the German army, in order to ensure their success. To keep their invasion plans a secret from the Nazi’s, The allies went so far as to create fake military battalions of trucks, tanks and other equipment made of wood and paper maché, stationed in the Southeast of England, in order to make the German army believe the invasion was coming by way of Pas de  Calais. This worked at drawing their attention away from the real invasion efforts in the Southwest of England. The area was totally sealed off by the military, in order to maintain the secrecy they needed for the operation to be a success.
